1. Design Research Associate

MTS seeks for an individual who shall pursue, conduct, analyze and report on applied research opportunities and provide education to team members on research process and findings.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for conducting research and development projects (e.g., building evaluation); integrating the knowledge in the design and construction process, feasibility studies, business development, and marketing. Broaden and deepen the research program within company to increase the knowledge and design expertise. Operate applied research projects or post-occupancy evaluation projects; manage the successful implementation of project benchmarking; and evaluate existing research applicable to project needs. Design and implement innovative methods or tools to assess various types of building design and construction to understand how well they are meeting the projects’ goals. Enhance company’s reputation as an expert in the arena by producing and publishing peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed publications, and making presentations in workshops, seminars, and conferences. Supervise support staff and other resources. Reinforce the company’s relationships with clients, potential collaborators, and sponsoring agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor degree or similar in architecture, Building Science, Construction, or related discipline.
- Experience working in building design researcher projects (e.g., building evaluation).
- Experience as the principal investigator on at least one research and development study.
- Experience with Pre/Post-Occupancy Evaluation of building facility projects.
- Experience implementing both qualitative and quantitative research methods: survey design, behavioral mapping or spaghetti diagramming, observation, or other form of analysis.
- Experience completing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.
- Experience with design and implement innovative methods or tools to assess various types of building design and construction to understand how well they are meeting the projects’ goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Have diversified knowledge, skills, and experience in architecture, engineering, and construction.
- Current certification in Human Subjects Protections.
- Experience speaking at national and/or international conferences.
- Experience in reinforcing the company’s relationships with clients, potential collaborators, and sponsoring agencies.
- Experience with managing the successful implementation of project benchmarking.

2. Architect

Our resources and expertise permit us to execute any size project with complete client satisfaction. MTS seeks for a licensed architect with at least 5 years licensed experience in architecture and management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares complex detailed project drawings with minimal supervision using diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices and advanced techniques.
- Reviews project drawings and assists in establishing and maintaining dimensional control.
- Assignments may include higher-level work for training/development purposes.
- Performs design computations.
- Validate that code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are met.
- Write reports or specifications for assigned project.
- Supervise a team of architects.
The principal responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following and may be reconsidered by management at any time:
1. Assisting in the administrative duties of the businesses, including project accounting, organization, and publicity. 2. Updating the architectural product library and ordering project samples. 3. Assisting in field verification, including field measurement & record documentation. 4. Creating construction documents and making design selections. 5. Maintaining good rapport with associated partners, i.e. builders, product sales representatives, IT providers, and delivery personnel. 6. Product research and preparing reports such as product comparisons & project schedules. 7. Maintaining company involvement in the design community through organizational participation and representing a professional image at all times. 8. Maintaining timely, effective and honest communications with management and clients. 9. Keeping and submitting to management a weekly timesheet & an expense report. 10. Attending all staff meetings. 11. Openly discussing company and/ or account concerns before taking action. 12. Participating in the growth of the company as a cooperative and creative member of the team and openly accepting other responsibilities requested by management. 13. Assisting in the selection of furniture, finishes, and lighting when needed. 14. Additional duties may be asked upon management’s request.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- Professional degree from an accredited program.
- Typically, with 5+ years’ experience.
- Minimum of 5 years Mission Critical experience.
- Architectural Registration required.
- Knowledgeable of drawing software (Revit, CAD and/or BIM) and other drafting and presentation tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- The completion of at least three years of a four-year undergraduate program in Architecture or a closely related field.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft Word, and the World Wide Web, Photoshop, Sketch-up and/or 3D AutoCAD, and construction documents and specifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop professional relationships within a variety of disciplines under multiple directives.
- Ability to generate ideas creatively in design development and presentation production.
- Personable, reliable, and honest with an entrepreneurial drive.
